Open Houses
An Open House at Harbor offers a chance to visit the school and learn about our programs without obligation.
At a weekend Open House, parents of students currently in the school will offer tours, you will be able to visit classrooms, you will see our technology in use by the students, and Mr. Young, Head of School, will greet you. We will provide coffee and tea in our family-style dining room.
Harbor has openings in the Upper School (Grades 5-8), the Lower School (Grades 1-4) and Early Childhood (Age 2 through Kindergarten).
Additionally, we have limited openings for the current year at select grade levels.
Who Should Attend an Open House?
Any family should attend who:
- would like to learn about the advantage of attending an independent non-profit school, governed by a board of trustees and driven by a clear and distinct mission.
- would like to see their children in a safe school environment, where classrooms are focused on the learning styles of each child.
- would like their children challenged academically and entering ninth grade ready for honors and advanced class placements.
- may be concerned that their children's school seems to teach only "to the test."
- shares our commitment to learning and who will support that commitment at home.
- would like to see their children have opportunities both to lead and to follow as they grow into the upper grades.
- would like their children in a school where students support each other and learn to value each other for their differences.
- would like their children in a school where Eighth Graders love the chance to help the younger students, and where the younger ones admire and emulate the older ones.
- would like their children in a school where it's cool to be smart.
