How to Give to Harbor
Gifts are Tax-deductible
Harbor Country Day School is a not-for-profit institution; all donations are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law. To receive a current year tax deduction for your gift, it must be received by December 31st.
Making an online gift to Harbor Country Day School is easy. Simply click on the Online Giving link to get started; this brings you to a secure payment gateway. Once there, fill in the easy to follow form. HCDS accepts VISA, MasterCard and American Express. Your generous gift will be acknowledged electronically and later, you will receive a written acknowledgement from the School for tax purposes.

A gift of securities or stock is an alternative to a cash gift to Harbor. It provides for an income tax deduction for the giver equal to the fair market value of the securities/stock at the date of transfer. Gifts of appreciated securities can provide great advantages. Please contact the Advancement Office at (631) 584-5555 for information needed to initiate the transfer or for more information.
Credit Card by Mail or Phone
Donations to the Harbor Fund can also be made by credit card: VISA, MasterCard or American Express. Simply check off the appropriate box on the Harbor Fund envelope, fill in the complete credit card information and mail to the Advancement Office. You can also call in your credit card information. Gifts by credit card can be made in one payment or charged in installments.
Many employers are willing to match donations to Harbor Country Day School; a matching gift by an employer increases the impact of your gift. If your employer or your spouse's employer has a matching gift program, please indicate on the Harbor Fund envelope when making your gift. You may enclose the employer's matching gift form with your gift, or you can ask the employer's Human Resources Department for more information.
Honorary or Memorial Gift
If you wish to honor or memorialize a loved one or another individual with your gift to the School, indicate the name of person you wish to honor or remember when making your gift. A receipt will be sent to you for the gift, and the honoree or family of the memorialized individual will be notified of your donation.
If you would like to make a gift to Harbor Country Day School but are not in a position to do so right now, please contact the Advancement Office at (631) 584-5555 to phone in a pledge. If possible, indicate when you plan on making your gift to Harbor, and a friendly reminder will be sent to you.
If you are pledging to the Harbor Fund, you may also mail in your pledge to the Advancement Office at the above address in a Harbor Fund envelope. Harbor Fund pledges for the current campaign year must be paid by June 30th, but the sooner the gift is made, the sooner the donation goes to work for the School.
